Causes de la décoloration de l'asphalte

Asphalt color change is to use different construction techniques to repair and beautify the color of cement, asphalt concrete and various sidewalks. The colors are mainly red, yellow, blue, green, gray and black. However, the discoloration phenomenon might happen during the process of color change. The reasons may be related to the following points:

Oxidation
Asphalt pavement is exposed to the air and is oxidized for a long time. During the oxidation process, the organic matter in the asphalt will undergo chemical changes, causing the color of the pavement to gradually darken or turn brown.

Ultraviolet radiation
Solar ultraviolet radiation is one of the main factors that cause the discoloration of asphalt pavement. Ultraviolet rays can affect the molecular structure of asphalt and change it, accordingly causing the color of the pavement to fade.

Pollutants
Such as dust, vehicle exhaust and chemicals will adhere to the pavement and gradually form a dirt layer. These pollutants will react chemically with asphalt, causing the discoloration of the pavement.

Moisture
Long-term rain soaking or water accumulation will penetrate into the asphalt layer, causing discoloration.

Damage and wear
Traffic and pedestrian activities will cause wear and damage to the pavement, which will thereby affect the surface texture and particle distribution of the pavement, the reflection and refraction of light, and thus cause the discoloration of pavement.
