AW element (also named ceramic glass beads) is designed for highways, and basically for side line markings. It’s available for road marking drop on application with thermoplastic paint, MMA paint and waterborne paint ect., it can be used in either new road marking line or renewed road marking line as maintenance. Tory provides the dry type and wet type to meet different country’s standard and specifications, available size are: 1.0-1.5mm, 0.85-1.2mm, 0.6-1.0mm, 0.6-0.85mm, to work with different paints and wet film thickness, the most popular size is 0.85-1.2mm for thermoplastic paint.

The AW element is composed with core glass beads inside, and combined with non-transparent micron beads, based on special optical design it will provides superior retro-reflectivity in dry and wet conditions, the refractive index is between 1.93-2.4.

The equipment can be 1 dispenser or 2 dispensers（double-drop system）, for machine with 1 dispenser the easier method is mix HR glass beads with AW element according to a ratio in advance, but it can not make sure the sedimentation of both HR glass beads and AW element, because the AW element  is always imbedded slowly than HR glass beads. For machine with 2 dispensers, the AW element must be first drop, the operator can adjust the temperature of thermoplastic to control the sedimentation of AW element, to make sure it sink into the paint between 50-60%.
