Influence of Construction Temperature on Hot-Melt Markings

The construction temperature of hot-melt marking paint generally refers to the temperature of the marking car hopper, which usually requires that the material in the hopper should be maintained at 180-220 ° C. When the melt temperature of hot melt marking paint is too high, the volatilization of additives in the paint is accelerated. If the temperature is too low, it will also affects the stretchability of resin molecules inside the hot melt marking paint for road traffic, leading to changes in the adhesion of the marking to the road surface. Because the petroleum resin itself is a polymer compound, such compounds are like wire balls at low temperatures. As the temperature increases, molecular motion intensifies, and the molecules gradually extend and unfold. During the heating process, it is like a coil stretching. Therefore, as the temperature increases, its fluidity and surface area increase, which leads to increased fluidity in the hot melt marking paint, the contact chance of the resin and the road surface increases during construction, and it is easy to bond more closely with the road surface material. It is not difficult to understand why when the coating construction temperature is too low, hot melt markings are prone to partial or even large-scale detachment during use.
