Influence of Paint Temperature on Hot-melt Marking Performance


The marking performance is related to the temperature of hot-melt marking paint.


If the melting temperature is too high, it will accelerate the volatilization of additives in the paint, even deteriorate the paint and reduce its  adhesion to the road surface.

The temperature will also affect the sedimentation of glass beads, and it is best to have 50% ~ 60% glass beads float on the road.

With the increase of temperature, the fluidity of thermoplastic will become stronger, and glass beads will sink to the ground quickly, the reflection coefficient will be greatly decreased.


When the temperature is too low, the resin molecules will be affected at first, and the adhesion of paint will be damaged, too. More glass beads will float on the surface of marking, they are likely to fall off when vehicles pass by.
